Hello, you daring and delightful art lovers! We are weeks out from the festival, and ramping up for what is looking to be an incredible year! As many of you know, the Seattle Erotic Art Festival is almost entirely volunteer run. Aside from a small core staff that heads the Pan Eros Foundation, everyone from the people building our walls to the people on our committee volunteer their time to make this amazing event what it is. And that is why we’ve (virtually) gathered here today. Because SEAF 2023 needs volunteers!
Now, if this is your first SEAF, it can understandably be a little overwhelming. “What do I want to do? Where do I start?” We are here to provide the answers to all those questions an more!
Volunteer Info Session
This Saturday, April 1, we are hosting a Volunteer Information Session at our year-round home, Gallery Erato. There will be an orientation from 2 PM – 3 PM. From 3 PM – 4 PM both the Security team and the Directional (as in people who sashay through the event with signs giving directions) team will offer a short training. The Volunteer Lead will be on hand to help people navigate Volgistics. Volgistics is the tool we use to run our Volunteer Portal where you can make an account and sign up for shifts. In fact, you can sign up in Volgistics right now, just head on over!
There will also be leads from different departments on hand to answer questions and tell you a little about what volunteering in that department looks like. We have a wide variety of roles available. From being a Docent (someone who helps sell the art to patrons) to being a host in the VIP section to helping us put up the walls the art goes on, there are a lot of positions to fill!
If you can’t make it, don’t stress. Key departments will have additional virtual trainings. Leads are available via email to answer questions. A lot of roles can just be briefed on site. We do a volunteer walkthrough the Thursday before we open. Show up, we’ll find you something to do!
And thank you SO MUCH for helping us make SEAF happen! We know we couldn’t do it without you.
