The Seattle Erotic Art Festival proudly adds Artists’ Books to our myriad celebrated artistic mediums, beginning with our 2017 festival. Artists’ Books have been documented as far back as the 18th century as a unique work of art, with all content created and controlled by the artist. These wonderfully diverse books are hand made in small editions or unique one-of-a-kind pieces of art. Artists’ Books will be accepted as a type of Installation Art, displayed in vitrines, and made accessible to festival attendees via the artists themselves or Art Docents. This allows patrons of the Festival to become fully immersed in the complete experience of an Artist’s book. Submissions must be for sale, contain some original literary components and follow this year’s Literary theme surrounding submissions:
Urge v. to push or force along; to endeavor to induce or persuade; to press upon the attention. n. an act of urging; an involuntary, natural or instinctive impulse. Synonyms: impulse, desire, yearning, longing, craving, hankering, itch, yen, wish, fancy, hunger, thirst, passion, motive, motivation, reason, drive, provocation
