Hello artists and art lovers! Tomorrow begins the first of our SEAFsomes, and we are very excited to be able to share this fabulous art! Things are going to be a bit (a lot) different this year, as you might imagine, so let’s talk about that.
Small and Quiet
SEAF this year is a smaller, more private experience than it has been in the past. In keeping with King County guidelines for the event, our maximum capacity for the Gallery will be 25%. That’s about 35 people for us, including staff. Also, to keep you and our performers safe, there are no live performances this year. Your SEAF experience will feel more like an afternoon at a gallery or museum. Only sexier.
Mask up
We should all be well practiced at this by now. While in the Gallery, you will need to wear a mask at all times and maintain appropriate distance from anyone who is not in your party. Your party can’t exceed more than 5 people. This should go without saying, but we will refuse entrance to anyone not wearing a mask.
No Touching
Now, you should never be touching the art unless it says otherwise. In past years, we’ve had pieces that invite interaction. This year, for health and safety, we just can’t do it. So even if a piece of art looks like it has moving parts, please don’t touch. Ask the docent to demonstrate it for you if you really need to see it move.
The Store is Open
While it will be a smaller version of the Festival Store, in keeping with the smaller event, the store is open! We will have prints, pins, stickers, cards, and all the usual delights hiding in there. The store will change with every SEAFsome, so you’ll want to come back to each one and see what new finds await you.
Still Sexy
Obviously we’ve seen a lot of changes this year. How we do events has shifted dramatically. We are all eagerly hopeful to return to a bigger, louder, more interactive event next year. However, we feel we have still put together a lovely offering of art, some fantastic online performances, and it is our sincere hope that you will come away from the Gallery feeling better, with some amazing art that gets you excited. So go grab your tickets, and we’ll see you this weekend.
