Seduction showcases lavish erotic art, sure to entice you. We invite you to take a break from dancing to peruse the Seduction visual art exhibit. Our curator, Francisco D., has assembled a coterie of artists whose depictions of eroticism often lean toward the macabre. Many of whom have created new works of art specifically for Seduction.
Featuring hand-selected pieces by celebrated artists, this showcase is an enticing and disturbing display of the darker side of sexuality. You will recognize some of the artists as Festival favorites, and be delighted by the new artists Francisco wishes to introduce us to. You may find exactly what you hoped to take home with you. There will be Art Docents on hand to facilitate your art purchase.
The Artists
VisioLuxus – Elisa Lazo de Valdez is based in Portland, OR, USA. Creative fashion photography, conceptual nudes, artistic portraits that are dark, spooky, surreal and dreamy.
Francísco D. (Divine Mania) – Self described: Art Monster. Working out of “Divine Mania studio,” a crooked barn of creativity out in the wet countryside, where manic painting occurs during vampire hours, while the good world sleeps.
Patricia Ariel – Artist of surreal and visionary themes, Patricia was born in 1970 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She follows a classical tradition of drawing and uses a realistic representation of the human figure in an attempt to bring reality closer to the realm of dreams and spirituality, creating a world of visual poetry where light and darkness collide and reveal the symbolic and the mystical. Patricia is currently resides in the United States and is a member of the Energy Art Movement.
Shea Spina – Originally from southern New Mexico, Shea Spina is a contemporary figurative oil painter based in the Seattle area. Each of his paintings seeks to achieve a physical presence beyond a two dimensional arrangement of colors, stacking dozens of layers of thin transparent color to build luminosity & texture that interacts with its environment.
Rose Ellen Swenson – An illustrator based near Seattle Washington, US. Her work has been described as feminine, dark and vibrant. She uses a mix of watercolor, ink, graphite and colored pencil to complete her work. Many pieces are boldly adorned with flowers and geometric patterns.
Aaron Morgan – A Seattle, Washington based artist/illustrator who specializes in atmospheric figurative based work on repurposed found objects.
Larkin – Haunts the pacific northwest with his army of chimaeras, undead lunatics and fluffy bunnies. He paints in acrylics to grunge rock and crochets his frames out of old pants and garbage bags. The beautiful and terrible muse his mistress, a perpetual nightmare his best friend, he creates otherworldly visions in an effort to shun the mundane and raise a smile in the dark.
Stefari – Nature trippin’ illustrator based in Seattle, Washington.
Matthew G. Lewis – Born in the Deep South, Matthew attended the Savannah College of Art and Design. He now calls Seattle home: “Matthew festers away in Seattle, WA whilst wielding his loathsome tools of pencil and brush.”
John Santerineross – An American photographer with a background in ceramics and painting. Often described as a dark surrealist orc a “neo-symbolist”, John never elucidates his imagery for fear of limiting viewers’ personal interpretation. The piece on display in the Seduction showcase will be offered for sale with 100% of the sale price going to the artist’s fundraiser.
Venus Raven – A Photographer, a Director and a Performer with a monstrous artistic aesthetic. She has taken part in the creation of many theatrical productions throughout London UK. This is her first time exhibiting in the US.
