Just four more days until the 2017 Call for Art closes! Have you submitted your visual, literary, installation, or performance art yet? The Call for Art closes January 15th, 2017 at 11PM PST. Remember this deadline lovely artists— we’d hate to miss the opportunity to view and feature your incredible art!
Whether you submitted your art, or plan on doing so in the next 4 days, we want to remind you: not only do our guests have the opportunity to experience your works in an exhibition setting, many guests purchase art either directly through the exhibit, or at our festival store. Here’s a few interesting pieces of information on art sales at the event.
Art Sales
Did you know: The Seattle Erotic Arts Festival sells more art than ANY other erotic art festival? Art sales play a major part of the event, with enthusiastic attendees purchasing both exhibition and festival store art.
Exhibition Art
Art selected for display at the festival is available for sale, with exhibition art sales being 25% or higher each year. Our 2013 festival had a 32% sales rate, an all-time record! With so much going on during SEAF, we make it easy for guests to learn more about exhibition art and purchase if interested. Our lovely art docents, recognized by their white scarves, are around at all times to answer questions about art and facilitate sales. Guests, please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance! We’d love for you to take home something you love!
Festival Store
We also sell items through our on-site festival store. Artists who create cards, books, jewelry, and other collectibles are encouraged to submit their items for consideration. Festival store sales are high, and can be a great way for exhibition artists to complement their exhibition piece. Also worth noting, the store submission fee is waived if submitting a visual, literary, and/or installation piece. Artists can submit up to 20 items or groups of items to the store, in quantities from 1 to 50 per item. Complete your Festival store art submission in the Artist Submission Portal.
