The SEAF 2025 Call for Art opens next week!

SEAF 2025 Call for Art: Artist Myron Curry painting a mural of a woman with long hair and large hoop earrings at the 2024 Seattle Erotic Art Festival.

Hello there, theydies and gentlethems! There’s a chill in the air, people are putting up lights, there are frothing crowds at large retail outlets, it is that time of the year! The Call for Art is about to begin! I know, I was sneaky, I subverted your expectation there. Anyway, my magnificent creatives, on December 1, the SEAF 2025 Call for Art is go!

So time to bust out your gear—not that it ever got put away—and make a list, check it twice (I’m doing it again). Run to the art store, critically examine your performance playlist, saunter through a Home Depot, whatever it is that gets you feeling creative and sexy, because we need you! That’s right, you, right there. I see you. You do not need to hit those Black Friday sales, you need to stay home and get your art on.

Dates to put in your calendar

The SEAF 2025 Call for Art will run from December 1, 2024 to January 15, 2025. That is 46 days to submit your sensuous magnum opus. Because we want your art, my darlings. We want you, the artist, to help us answer the eternal question: “What is erotic?”

We have multiple calls running at this time, so just to make sure you have the correct end dates:

  • Interactive ends on December 15
  • Visual, Literary, and Store end on January 15
  • Performance ends on February 17
  • Film ends on March 8

Fees and other important details

This year we will be offering an Early Bird discounted fee of $20 for submissions until the end of the day on December 15. Beginning on the 16th, submissions fees are $38. Your fee allows you to submit up to 5 works to the festival. As we do each year, we are pleased to offer a scholarship program to artists from traditionally marginalized communities. (If you, gentle reader, are not an artist, but would like to contribute, kindly consider donating to our scholarship program here.) As always, there is no submission fee for artists who live and create outside of North America.

A breakdown of our fees and deadlines, along with some handy information and frequently asked questions, can be found here. I know I speak for the entire team when I say we can’t wait to see what you have in store for us this year!
