You will create a one-of-a-kind souvenir of your visit to the Seattle Erotic Art Festival when you join us for Brush Strokes. Last year, Brush Strokes sold out before the festival opened and beautiful art was made!
No painting experience nor “artist bones” required. We supply the step-by-step guidance and all the supplies necessary to explore your erotic side. You guide the paintbrush, sipping as you go, and then carry home some saucy art of your own making.
Brush Strokes is led by Wyatt Landis, who will guide you stroke by stroke while you transform your canvas into a remarkable painting. Landis is an MFA graduate of New York Academy of Art and the founder of Studio Paradiso in Seattle. For more than a decade, he has been teaching people of all skill levels, so whatever your painting experience, he knows how to unfurl your ability.
Brush Strokes is offered April 29th and 30th, 2017 at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival, and requires a specific Brush Strokes ticket purchase in advance online for $40 or at the door for $50.
Questions about Brush Strokes?
What is included in the price?
Paint, 11”x14” stretched canvas, brushes, palette, easel, box for transport, and someone else to clean up the mess.
What kind of art experience is necessary?
Experienced or not, we’ve designed this program for you. Just bring a beautiful attitude, and you’ll go home with a beautiful painting.
Is Saturday the same as Sunday?
Yes, both days will feature the same painting, one based on the theme “Natural Urge”. A photo will be added soon.
Both sessions are during gallery hours, so anyone 18+ can attend. Your Brush Strokes ticket includes complimentary Gallery Hours admission. If you would like to stay into the evening on Saturday, you will also have to purchase an All Day Saturday ticket.
Saturday, please be ready to start painting at 3:30 PM. We recommend arriving no later than 3:15 to get settled in the classroom. You can leave your finished painting in the classroom or with coat check until you are ready to leave the Festival, but everyone must have art in hand and leave the venue by 2 AM.
Sunday, please be ready to start painting at 1:00 PM. We recommend arriving no later than 12:45 to get settled in the classroom. Festival doors open at noon on Sunday. You will have time after class to explore the Festival exhibition, but everyone must have art in hand and leave the venue by 4 PM.
What should I wear?
We will have aprons, but we are working with oil-based paints, so consider that. Loose sleeves, fringe, flowing fabrics, all might impede your progress as you try to keep them out of paint. Saturday painters, we know that many of you will want to be in your “good clothes” for the rest of the evening, so feel free to bring a change of clothes if you like, and leave them with coat check until you are done painting.
What should I bring?
Bring eleven of your most favorite people, and you’ll have the makings of one heck of a party. Otherwise, bring your eyeglasses if you wear them, and your commitment to the muse you carry inside.
How long will this take?
The session runs about 2 hours, but we have a wee bit of time available if things run over or you just want to linger.
When can I take home my art?
When you leave the festival, please take your art with you. We will have small boxes, which you will need to keep horizontal if your painting has not completely dried.
What if I buy a ticket then cannot come?
You are encouraged to pass your ticket along to another art lover; we cannot give any refunds, sorry.
